Dr Julie Gork is a researcher, writer and educator working in the field of fashion studies.

I research fashion and the body.

My current research explores the experience of fashion for people who are blind. This research reveals how sensory knowledge is used to understand ideas related to appearance and beauty.

I teach fashion design and enterprise students.

Key areas are fashion history and theory, adaptive fashion, fashion diversity, fashion research methods, and fashion trends.

I work with industry and community for social impact.

Experience as fashion trend forecaster informs my approach to working with industry, using diversity and inclusion principles. I am also committed to working with community, hosting workshops, exhibitions and other engagement events.
